Testimonials

NWORTH provides expert support and advice at each stage of clinical trial development and we are always looking for ways in which we can improve and develop our services.

Here is what some of our collaborators had to say about their experience working with us:

I have worked with other CTUs and NWORTH is by far the best I have worked with!

Dr Anita Mehay
(Research Fellow, University College London)

NWORTH clinical trials unit are an excellent team. They are collaborative, supportive and responsive. Together we have delivered 2 major trials recruiting 5000 patients to interventional studies. The first (ADENOMA) recruited 6 months ahead of target and the second (BADENOMA) is on course to recruit even quicker. I would recommend the team for clinical trials work and indeed have done so to colleagues who now hold grants with NWORTH.

Professor Colin Rees
(Consultant Gastroenterologist, South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust)

NWORTH provided outstanding support throughout the trial set-up and delivery. The team was knowledgeable, efficient and flexible, and offered comprehensive high-quality services and expert advice from IT infrastructure, through quality assurance procedures to statistical analysis. NWORTH was essential for the overall success of the study and a pleasure to work with. I hope to collaborate again in the future.

Dr Aleksandra (Ola) Kudlicka
(Research Fellow, University of Exeter)

To say I was naïve about using a trials unit for research, especially for a study involving 22 sites, would be an understatement. However, despite my lack of experience the process has been smooth and efficient. The staff from NWORTH have been helpful, patient, flexible and informative. They advised on a multitude of issues including initial costings at the time of application, how to manage the practicalities of running the study such as participant IDs and questionnaire layout, and on all aspects of data management. At all times I have found the staff to be really clear about what they are doing and why. In addition, the NWORTH team are friendly and welcoming which makes for an easy working relationship which is so important when running potentially stressful studies. I have enjoyed working with NWORTH very much and will miss the contact when the study closes.

Dr Penny Wright
(Associate Professor in Psychosocial Cancer Care, University of Leeds)

The ‘Improving the experience of Dementia and Enhancing Active Life’ (IDEAL) longitudinal cohort study has worked with NWORTH CTU since 2014. Our experience of working with NWORTH has been positive. The CTU team were instrumental in developing our systems for data capture and monitoring. The CTU team are very professional and we are very pleased with the service NWORTH provided.

Dr Sharon Nelis
(Senior Research Fellow/Project Manager, University of Exeter)

Our experience of working with NWORTH has been extremely positive. The In Practice Prevention Programme is a Health prevention initiative and as Dentists and Commissioners we are out of our depth. ... NWORTH were excellent in terms of advice and helping us to design the material so it achieved our original aims and at the same time worked for the end users. Planning and costing of the Project was undertaken with clear communication of time lines and costs and these were included in an agreement document at the very start. The entire project was undertaken virtually through computer based communication , email , audio and Skype. ... Our Project has been very successful and we now have a very responsive and easily accessible Programme resource.
